Foothills Butcher Bar and Kitchen is our combination of neighborhood butcher shop, delicious casual dining and friendly, local bar.
With a menu designed by chef Rachel Freihoff-Lewin, our Butcher Bar and Kitchen is a family-friendly destination for eat-in or take-out, grabbing a pint of local beer or a casual cocktail after work, or swinging by to pick up fresh grocery staples or your weekly Meat CSA package from our butcher counter.

Eat & Drink
We serve our Black Mountain butcher bar and kitchen with a casual dine-in and carry-out experience, with our legendary focus on local foods and handmade meats.
We serve Foothills signature menu items such as burgers, house-made hot dogs, and tallow fries, features from our smokehouse, and Chef Rachel’s daily specials. Experience a culinary adventure from American classics and comfort foods to layered dishes that will please a connoiseur’s palate. In addition, Rachel and her culinary team use seasonal, local produce as well as offer “good eats for the non-meat eaters.”
We have a friendly, cozy bar that features a small and well-curated draft beer selection as well as bottles and cans from hard to find breweries for enjoying here or to-go. In addition to the beer selection, you can enjoy simple and inexpensive classic cocktails.
Sunday Supper brings people together. Based on the weekend tradition of gathering around the dining table to connect with one another, Foothills Sunday Supper, starting December 11th, will be a meal served family style focused on bringing people together, passing the food, talking to strangers and getting to know each other while celebrating the great foods with our reach and acknowledging the farms we use for meat, produce and dairy.
Enjoy a set menu with two different price points: the first option will feature a snack, an entree, three sides and a dessert. The second will feature simply the entree and the three sides.
Every Sunday, 4-8pm. Prices range from $16-22 for your meal. Menus change each week, so please be sure to follow our Instagram and Facebook pages!
No reservations are needed, and there are no set seating times for Sunday Suppers. Just bring your friends, your family, your appetite and good conversation. It’s Sunday: time to relax and eat!

Your Neighborhood Butcher Shop
We offer a “browse and buy” butcher counter, featuring fresh meat staples. The butcher shop counter opens at 11am Tuesday-Saturday and is available to you until closing time! We offer all your favorites, including:
- ground beef
- pork chops
- house-made hot dogs
- sliced deli meats
- bacon (beef or pork)
We seasonally add other retail items within arm’s reach, such as housemade stock, quality lard, brine kits, gravies and sauces, mustards, pickles, and other goods to make your shopping experience easy and inspirational.

In addition to our Foothills Food Truck in Biltmore Village and Butcher Bar and Kitchen West Asheville, our location in downtown Black Mountain serves as a convenient pick-up point for your Meat CSA share or special orders from the Commissary Kitchen. Foothills is a food service company specializing in local and pasture-raised meats for retail and wholesale markets. The core of our business is our food-service arm, which consists of Foothills Food Truck, open daily at Hi-Wire Brewing's Big Top, and our Catering Division, which offers a wide range of menu options for weddings and events of all sizes. Foothills also offers custom butchery, fabrication, sausages and primal cuts for wholesale buyers and home-use. Foothills meats can be purchased in bulk or bi-weekly through our Meat Share CSA program.
